Tensions eased in the Middle East, allowing markets to stabilise, with bond yields softer. US equities were mixed, as pressure mounts on the tech sector, with fears over Chinese gains in ‘Chip Technology’ and ‘AI-gains’. The US halted attacks on Iran over the weekend, with possible Iranian approaches for a ceasefire and perhaps a shortage of US munitions. The US Dollar was steady, with the EUR trading 1.1370, while the GBP slipped below 1.3300.Commodity currencies further settled, with the AUD holding below 0.7000, while the NZD under 0.5800. Australian markets will be looking closely at Wednesday’s inflation reading, while generally markets will look at Central Bank interest rate decisions, led out by the Fed.
